According to Effy, yes. But I had no clue about it. *ahem* ATTENTION!! I PRESENT TO YOU.... THE BLACK PARADEThe following took place last week in London. **First 8 minutes, 26 seconds of TBP/Questions (Got this from MCRmy)
Crowd:wwwooooo!!! person:Unfortunately, My chemical romance will not be out to perform this evening due to unforseen circumstances. They have expressed their deepest apologies. In their absence they've asked their good friends to fill in for them. *beeping from TBP commercial* Crowd:EMM CEE ARR!! EMM CEE ARR! *music begins* Gerard: Now come on, Now come one come all to this tragic affair Wipe of that make-up - what's in is despair So throw on the black dress Mix in with the lot You might wake up and notice you're someone you're not If you look in the mirror and don't like what you see. You'll find out first hand what it's like to be me. So gather round piggies and kiss this good bye I'll encourage your smiles I'll expect you won't cry *music* *more beeping* Gerard:We are the black parade
What is the black parade Is it a new band or your new albume? -Kyoko-Osaka
Gerard:Um "The Black Parade" is the name of your new album coming out this october. The black parade is also our alter-ego on this record. Um, this was a really different album to make and there was a certain point where it was so dark for us that it felt like we needed to become much more than brothers and we had to be there for each other in many more ways and we also needed to become a new band. Normally a band says that every time they make a new record, in some ways they become a new band. But we really did it this time and became a different band. But you know make no mistake, we are My Chemical Romance still but The Black Parade is our alter ego for this record. The Black Parade is also the basic premisde of the record which is when you die, I'd like to think that when you die, death comes for you however you want and I feel that it's your stronget memory, whether in childhood or adulthood and for this particular character in this record called the patient, his strongest memory is being a child and his father taking him to a parade, so when death comes for him, it's in the form of a black parade.
We can we expect of the sound of the new album? Which song do you like the most?-steve-kansas
Gerard:Lawerence Kansas. Lawerence Kansas. Isn't that where uh James is from? Frank:Yeah Gerard:We have some good friends in Lawerence Kansas, so we'll say hi to you.
*everyone laughs*
Gerard:This record, I feel, the thing about My Chemical Romance, is that every time that they make a record, they jump very far ahead. It's not simply the next record but I feel that it's 3 jumps ahead sometimes, so of course with this record it's no different-it's almost as if we jumped in a time machine and made the 6th or 7th record. Um.. "The Black Parade" is epic, theatric Frank:Orcastraical Gerard:*laugh* orcastrical Ray:Big Gerard:Big record that you know is also a concept album with a very set story, but as you listen to it, the layers of the story peel away and what you're left with is a sotry about mortality and our own mortality I feel um, but I think um , you guys would have more to say about the sound.... Ray:yeah um I think because of we really wanted to tell this story so because of that we had to experiment a lot you know and we have alot of new instruments on the record, like the piano, which unlocked a whole new form of song writing for us which was really instrumental & really creative and the sound was the scope of this record.. um yeah the sound of the record was very symphonic and very orchastrated. It's five guys playing together more so then they ever have in their lives. And it's a tapestry of great sounds and um it's just really really epic. And I think that's the best way to describe it.
Frank: Yeah, we just took the best elements of the first two albums and ran with them, ran with them so far that it doesn't sound like either of them.
Gerard:Yeah, yeah. We all feel that we could...we could stop holding back a little bit. We never really held back, but we felt that anything was an option we were encouraged by Rob C. to do whatever we wanted that it just...it just made us crazy. It's a record that's so full of life and so risky and daring and fun and it makes you laugh, and it makes you cry. My favorite song is "Welcome to the Black Parade" because it personifies the record it it basically the one song that sums up the sound of the record and all the risks we took jammed into one little mini epic. And it still retains everything that makes us special I feel.
Mikey:Yeah. It's kind of like when a director has a bunch of movies, it's kind of like we have 3 separate movies they're all from the same director and it's kind of like they're all different but we like them all.
Gerard:Does anybody...favorite songs... Frank:Oh yeah! favorite songs.. Gerard:ya Frank:Ummmm my favorite song is "Cancer" it its one of the mosts stiripped down songs. It's a song where we really listened to each other and what the song wanted to be and what the song needed to be and found out where to play and where not to play and it's really just vocally and piano driven and which is something we've never done that before and never got a chance to try and there's some drums in it and some string arrangements and some base, but really mostly the vocals and piano play, but really it's just an intense song and i think the way Gerard sings and the way he sang just paints a....not a horrifying picture but a very sad one and I think it's hard not to listen to that song and well up. I think Bob has his own version. Gerard:Yeah Bob sings his own version of "Cancer" Bob:It's a good imitation. Mikey: I think i have a different favorite every day. Today it's... I agree with Gerard it's "Welcome to the Black Parade" I have it on repeat all the time. Ray:I think my favorite is the last track on the record, it's called "Famous Last Words" it's umm you know like Gerard said before, the album kind of takes you on a journey and um I like the fact that "Famous Last Words" leaves you..leaves the listener with a sense of hope at the end of the rocord and the end of the journey and I think that's why it's my favorite song. Gerard:Bob's song. Bob:Ummmm every time I get asked this question I change my mind. I said that "Cancer" was my favorite song but that was Frank's favorite song so I changed it to "Sleep" [Sister to sleep? ] and then I changed it to "Welcome to the Black Parade" and I think I'm changing it to "I Don't Love You". We played it last night and it's a good song and it says alot and I think it's good that I keep changing my mind because there's so much stuff I like so ...*squeels with excitment* We MCR fans have known about "The Black Parade" for quite some time now but just recently MCR has confirmed what it is. ;D

Gimmie. I was just thinking about how MCR is all done recording their album. And like... they've been playing their new songs at shows... which means they know them pretty well (obviously, they're their songs )... but then I thought... "how dare they know the songs before I do! " Yup.
