yeah I was going to say that it was old news I read the comic which mentions Williams second name and Halfrek says somethinge like "you get back here right now William Pratt!" hehe, poor Spike I didn't like it at first, but I think its great now, it sort of makes sense and it fits with the William image since William was made fun of by people no wonder Spike changed his name. I sort of thought that it might of just been a coincidence, as I understand it theres a lot of pratts in America theres a guy in er whose second name is pratt and no one makes fun of him on it.

yeah we'll just pretend it was yeah Joss is witty and smart, he probably knew that it means something else over here. actually I don't think it was Joss that came up with it, the comic book maker called pete something something (the somethings are a lovely family) wrote it with the second name in it and Joss okayed it But yeah Joss is smart, he knows what it means, I think he probably has some knowledge on British Culture, or he would have Spike become a North London/Cockney Hybrid and have him say "cor, bloody cor, Slayer apples and pears up my stairs why don't ya? cor" like a lot of fanfic writers have
