You guys do realise that the cure storyline was ripped strait out of Joss Whedon's stint on the X-Men "Astonishing" comic book series? Oh why didn't they let Joss direct this? Actually, I think Joss turned it down... can anyone clarify? btw have a look here uk.comics.ign.com/articles/709/709256p1.htmlJoss has already made the top 25 greatest comic book moments EVER with 'Colossus Lives'!

DARN TOOTIN Colossus lives, the X-Men were nothing without him 2. I remember hearing that Joss was offered the job when Brian Sing... [he who cannot be named] was off doing Supe.... [the film that cannot be named]. I'm going to just come out with my other theories... We're still could either dealing with the Legacy Virus or The Horseman of Apocalypse meaning 4 of our mutants will not be the same anymore

Saw it tonight and I thought it was excellent! Great moments throughout and we actually get to see the true comic book form of my best x-men superhero... ICEMAN! If this is the last one I find it upsetting that it wasn't mentioned that Bobby Drake (Iceman) can actually be as powerful as Jean! In the comics he's an Omega lvl mutant (highest being lvl5 for the film) but cant reach it because of his self doubt... I think this would be an excellent story arc for the character in the movies, but it wasn't to be. Let's hope we get another!
btw people STAY UNTILL AFTER THE CREDITS!!!!! You wont want to miss what happens!

Shameless spoilers on the way 1 2 3 I just saw it i was tremendously smug that people left and missed the real ending I loved that big things happened deaths The brutal way Magneto crushed those cars that were guarding mystique fantastic Wolverines forest beserker rage too wow The Last Stand title doesnt make me think thats it for the series at all , it was good how theyve set it up for the next one i thought , it feels like the end of the Mutants V Humans thing though . The next one will be great if it shows Magneto struggling with nonmutantness for a while at least Iceman becoming more of a grown up leader type , i loved the ending with Wolverine looking like the boss of the school , its good that Storm and the others will keep the place going . 1 2 3

haha I loved all the bits you just mentioned too! They still have the apocalypse story to tell, which would be superb imho. In this arc in the comic book Magento is found not guilty by the united nations and goes about redeeming himself (he did say "what have I done" in the film) by becoming the leader of the x-men and new headmaster of the prof x institute (prof x isn't around, think he's either thought dead or with his true love in space). Apocalypse then threatens the world and Magneto and the x-men go up against him! Awesome.

What a sad film I shockingly nearly cried a couple of times but I held it together. We had arsey people in the cinema though who were eating loudly, throwing things at the screen and shouting. Bloody kids/adults. What happened after the credits? I read something was supposed to happen but didn't bother to stay to watch it.

I was so impressed that they killed people that we like i only had about 7 other people in with me but 2 of them were 'making out ' extravagantly Remember the bit where Patrick Stewarts giving that class about whether its ethically right to put the healthy mind of someone in a braindead body is ok ? well at the end credits the Dr woman is in that room when suddenly the braindead man starts talking to her with Patrick Stewarts voice

S P O I L E R S Yeah, that shocked me. I kept expecting Scott to turn up, not dead at all. He was criminally underused. Not that I particularly like him much as a character but still. It felt like some of the characters like Rogue kind of got left out because of all the new ones coming in. I did like Iceman actually turning to ice but I'm still not too sure about his character. That fast mutant girl really had a personal vendetta against Storm didn't she? Sheesh, bitch slap ahoy. Vinnie Jones...hmm. Not sure what to say about him. I thought his "Don't you know who I am?" delivery was so, so off. Kitty's "dickhead" line was good but we didn't really know enough about her. I mean this is the character Joss Whedon says is the best female character ever but this film didn't particularly indicate why. I liked when Jean actually went into Phoenix mode with the billowing hair, perhaps a few less veins would have been nice though. The scene in the house with her and Xavier with their battle of the minds was great and shocking. The bit at the end with Wolverine struggling to get to her as she peeled off his skin...jesus malarky. Shallowly I was thinking "Crickey, is Wolverine going to get completely starkers?!". Which reminds me...Mystique! OMG NO. Poor cow. However, she was rather gorgeous A couple were making out in the cinema during X-Men 3? Are they MAD! The film is so much more important. OMG, Xavier! He's alliiiiiive. Wow. What did he say to the Doctor? "Hello, dear?"

I was never that bothered about cyclops , i didnt wish death on him but it enhanced the film i thought it was good that we actually got to see Xavier explode I liked the Iceman characters story and him , i felt like they were establishing the younger newer ones iCEMAN/kITTY/rOGUE for the next film, because there is going to be one i dont believe Rogue unmutanted herself . She was taking his hand to teach him a lesson Vinnie Jones was out of place i thought , maybe more amusing to people who dont know him or arent bored/Embarassed by him iT WAS GREAT SEEING wOLVERINES SKIN PEEL OFF AND REPEATEDLY HEAL LIKE THAT , I THINK ID FORGOTTEN HE COULD DO THAT WHEN SHE FIRST STARTED BURNING HIM I LOVED WHEN HE DID WHAT HE DID I was surprised Magneto just left Mystique there like that , then was surprised when she was seemingly betraying him , but she wasnt They were at it through all the trailers too he was old enough to be her granndfather i think thats what he said , i think he said her name too .

Stubble becomes Cyclops, though. Not literally. That would be hell to shave.
Yeah I could see they were trying to set up the teens but I didn't think they did a particularly good job of it. Iceman came across to me as a cheating hussy. I thought that when he took Rogue's hand he was going to be all "Hooray...ow.OWWW!" and get all veiny. Maybe I just wished that.
I only really liked Vinnie's line about needing a wee although he should have said wee and not pee. Just because American's wouldn't understand it.
I really liked the skin peeling skin. I'm a sadist. I liked the "You'd die for them?" "No, for you. For you." Exchange. SO ROMANTIC. ha. No, but really. I liked their ending.
I thought she did betray him but Magneto had already figured out she would. Oh well.

his mourning seemed a bit annoying to me though , its been years since we saw her 'die' he would surely have had a really lengthy beard after that time i THINK HIS OPENING SCENE OF x4 WILL BE HIM ALL VEINED UP ON THE FLOOR WITH rOGUE GIVING HIM A GOOD TELLING OFF I thought he looked the part , but should have styed silent like in his other films I loved how he did what he did and still did a flash little pose and wasnt all teary I think theyre both still in cahoots , but without needing to communicate i hope they have a scene comparing their terrible human existences next time .

He has nice eyes, though. I hope so. And then Kitty will run through the wall and be all "Hmm. I'm just going to come back later..." And Rogue will run after her shouting "You're next, skag!" and accidentally run into the wall through which Kitty escapes. I was thinking did they give him fake muscles? There's no way that was all Vinnie. It was very artistically framed with the two of them. Tragic dears, I think it was the only time I believed in the X-Men film universe that he actually was in love with her. Cos I always tend to think in the films there's more between Wolverine and Rogue. Whereas in the cartoon/comics it's clearly Wolverine/Jean all the way. Gambit will be in the next one. He WILL. If not he can be in the Wolverine film since they're polar opposites. I still thought it was very considerate of the PhoenixJean not to disintergrate all his clothes, she very nicely left most of the bottom half intact. Wheras really, since we saw early she was a slavering sex beast, she would have just disintergrated all the clothes. I had a horrible thought she might expose old Xavier too Perhaps Mystique can walk up to the chess table and pick up the pawn and be all "It's not quite checkmate yet, old friend. MWHAHA." I thought the Storm flying and the Angel flying wasn't very well done. Angel's escape and jumping out of the window swooping down started quite well but then looked a bit crap. And what was the point of moving that bridge? Why didn't he just fly them all over as they were all wearing metal of some kind I'm sure.

yes very fetching before being melted i wonder what would occur if Rogue touched Kitty . yeah its a suit , i read something about it Was she just luring Cyclops to the lake so hed free her and she could kill him ? or was that a spur of the moment decision ? He should have Rogue insteadd , Iceman not got the required healing abilities to cope I wonder what kind of pants Xavier wears big old y fronts id say I like the Mystique/Magneto team , the fire boy isnt too great though you could see old Mystique wasnt forced to be painted for ten hours this time it was a bit more rudimentary The Angel bloke was another one who only seemed to be in it to set up his character in a following film . I liked the bridge thing ,i thought he was going to drop it on the building to kill the soldiers and liked that idea , the woman in the car was funny
