I finally saw this film at the cinema, no less!
I really liked it. It's different and original and interesting. At times it feels quite camp, but I think that's the point, and sometimes actors seem to be over-acting.
It's all part of the magic.
The way in which it's shot is great. The black and white with hints of colour here and there is really interesting and immediately seperates it from other films of a similar genre.
The stories are all interesting and intricatly woven. It's amazing how many times characters can get shot or blown up and still live.
I thought the Bruce Willis & Jessica Alba stuff was the highlight but Rourke as Marv was ingenious too.
Elijah Wood is just a creepy sod.
There's a hell of a lot of violence in it, which I loved, but if you're of a nervous/squeamish disposition you probably shouldn't see this film. There's also some booby flashing but then it had to happen.
Oh, and my friend fancies Clive Owen and Josh Hartnett.
Amen.

Im scandalously yet to see it , laziness is ruining my cinema attendance record ! The look of it is remarkable , it reminds me of 'Dick Tracy' To have left out the boob flashing would have been a terrible betrayal of the source material , i salute their brave 'no selling out ' stance The various posters with single characters really help hit home just how many different decent actors are in it , I vow to see it ! sometime in the future

Yes, it truly is an all-star cast. Sadly, I did not fancy any of the old guys. Although Brucy was naked in it at times (sadly hidden by shadows)
But the girls? Oooh, yeah.

Brittany? Pshaw. Jessica's a bit of alright. Actually it was some other girl I thought was pretty but I don't know her name. We're like ships passing in the night.
Clive's still a boy. I need a grandpa type!

At last ive seen it ! It was better than i'd dared dream too, and i'd dreamt some ! I loved the three big storylines, and how they blended seemlessly into each other , and youd find yourself in the next one without feeling displaced from the film . I enjoyed that they maintained the comic book rules that 50 bullets doesnt automatically mean death I loved the Marv storyline and that it kept going as long as it did, his use of the word 'dame' was a constant source of joy too His escape in the river and through the sewage pipe made me strangely envious of his heroism Clive Owens story was another great one , I liked that he had guilt and some morals and worried alot about consequences . Visually the Old Town scenes were my favourite , I dont know why The Samurai girl and Gail were believably threatening . I really felt for old Bruce and Nancy , it was a great story and their mutual loyalty was great , I hope the final bullett wasnt as fatal as it seemed . The hand removal scenes in each story were incredible , Like Xander losing his eye, sometimes those things are more shocking than death somehow. Overall it was a smash hit, and i'd recommend it to everyone , if you dont like it youre an idiot I'm gagging for the 2 sequels

The Old Town bits were great. Benicio Del Torro getting his head pushed into a toilet was great, especially the line "You made one mistake. You forgot to flush"
I thought the Harrtigan and Nancy stuff was very poignant especially with the line "Old man's death for a young girls life. Fair trade" which was then repeated only with "woman" instead of girl. I hope he's not dead too although it looked pretty fatal.
Sequels? Yes, please!

That was good with him then trying to whack the cistern The Old town girls stories would be good for sequel/prequels , how they got there and got control of the place . Yeah repeating that line was great , and crushing , i'll tell myself that when he shot Yellowman in the head he lived so Hartigan can In related news, I loved the Madsen delivery of the line " Youre pushing 60 with a bum tickerrrrrrrr" I read two sequels have been 'Greenlit' and will be filmed at the same time

The girl who I thought was pretty was the betrayer. Becky, or something. I remember finding out her name was Alexis something. I liked the glowing blue eyes.
There was some kind of triumph in the prostitutes having control of their own town and doing things their way.
Girl Power!
I loved it when Wendy knocked Marv over with her car about 3 times and he just got back up. Only in the movies. And comics.

Alexis Bledel , she has a thora birch-y look about her , her ending was a surprise I thought it was Elijah Wood in the lift for a minute . They were pretty impressive in many ways , Its funny hoping they save the day and carry on their lives of prostitution in peace

I know. Let's all route for the prostitues! Well, why not. It's an honest profession.
Eejh. Elijah Wood was freaky. The part with the dogs and the lack of limbs was nasty. I loved it.

Heroines one and all, except becky I'd like to see more of Benicios police career if they show their pasts , and Bruce and Madsenas a younger duo . When they shot Marvs parole officer and he went after them with an axe , yeees

The part where Bruce "Took away his weapon. Both of them" Ouchie. Poor evil YellowDude. My friend was practically throwing up. I was laughing. Psychotic, me?
Maybe they could show how Clive Owen and Gail met and stuff. Less Brittany Murphy though, please.
And perhaps how Nancy grew up to be a dancer and her obsession for an old man in jail.
It has the potential to be great!
