Probably the most awkward conversation between Simon and Kaylee happened in The Message...

KAYLEE: Tell me more good stuff about me.
SIMON: Well, you're kind of a genius when it comes to machines... you always say what you mean, and your eyes...
KAYLEE: Yeah? Eyes, yeah?
SIMON: I don't know how to...
(joking)
Plus, every other girl I know is either married, professional, or closely related to me, so you are more or less literally the only girl in the world.
KAYLEE: That's a hell of a thing to say.
SIMON: I was joking...
KAYLEE: No, no, I get it. Back on Osiris you probably had nurses and debutantes crawling all over you. But down here at the bottom of the barrel, there's just me.

I felt bad for Kaylee after that conversation.

But then all the guys liked her so it was okay.

And when Inara kissed Mal and then got knocked out just like him by the poison on his lips then later on she was all "I just fell! I'm fine. I fell" "I don't need to be examined I fell!" "I fell over!"

I like it when Simon dopes Jayne as well. Bwhaha. And he's like "shiny lights...ooh..." *SLAM*
