He cut his tongue on his fangs and then applied the mixture to Buffy's wounds to make sure they scarred. Buffy used her own speed and skills to bite into the other side of his neck. She echoed his words back to him, "MINE!"
Buffy: It was to keep us together. So that I can feel you, even in death................
He repeated her words, "Even in death...................."
Buffy: Good, I'm glad you agree.
'Cor luv, this is the undoing me of. I'll never forget it!'

It took a lot of effort for her to come out here. She was afraid of his reaction. Afraid of the rejection. Angel had rejected her offer to claim him. It still hurts to think about it.
"Don't let that wanker get to you luv..................."
"He didn't claim you, he didn't deserve you............."
'If it was up to me, I'd have you claimed before you can say the word!'
Buffy: I'm happy that this time is different. I can already feel the claim snap into place. It's amazing! I can hear your thoughts, feel what you are feeling. It's- it's............. nice.
Spike: That's just the claim taking place. You're in me and I'm in you. We are mated now. This isn't something you can just throw out and leave. It's a forever kind of deal. Too late to take it back even if you want to.
I don't, she said firmly. "I never want to take it back!"

Angel had crippled her so much after that day. And then Riley left.
She had forgotten what it was like to love, to be loved. She thought wrong. Despite her looks, her reputation, she was loved. She had a family, a whole group of friends, and she has Spike. It didn't make any sense at first, but it did at the same time. She's not destined to be alone. She just needed to find that out.
Spike gave her a whole new outlook. To be confident, to brave the storm...........

He didn't know if he was the answer to all of her queries, but he was there..........

Well, my hair ran down my face like a waterfall.
"So young and so alive..............."
It all happened like this.
"But she was lonely."
My parents had a big fight that day. About me of all people.
"And I ran scared.................."
I hated it. The constant pressure at home.
"Scared to stay alive."
It was like living in pure hell. To hear the screaming of "I hate yous."
"I wanted it to stop."
Parents aren't supposed to fight.
"So I can tear myself away."

Dru: Silly Spoike, you shouldn't be so cross. I've come bearing news about the Great One.
She looked pointedly at Buffy and a small smile formed on her lips.
"Oooh, do you see it? She's glowing!"
Spike: It's your soul Buffy. She's talking about your soul............
Dru shook her head, "No. Something else is in there. Waiting to be unlocked............"
Buffy suddenly had a thought.
"You're the one Buffy. The key's power lies in you!!!!!!!"
Buffy: A doormat................
Spike: What's that pet...........?
Buffy: The key, it needs a lock to open up doorways right?
Spike: What do you mean?
Buffy: I'm the doormat, Dawn's the key, do you see what I mean?
