Ruth was crying something about being owed when a man in a fancy suit came to us. He said my father was being lied to and wasn't in any bad debt! You can imagine how shocked my mother was. She even acted surprised. The man said however; the money belongs to me and he wanted Ruth to have zero cent! Thank god someone saw some sense! My mother does not deserve a cent! She was using my father for his investments and had no intentions of loving him. The man gave me a folded envelope with the money! I can see my mother on the other side of the room, she looked jealous. I thought how ridiculous, she should put me first! I opened the envelope and looked inside. Inside, were a key and a necklace. The center piece was a very rare diamond. There was also a document with my legal name on it that says, I now have the right to own my father's inheritance money. There was a suitcase with stacks of my father's money! The man said the Hockleys were being dishonest and were forced to give up! I can't believe my mother was going to marry me to someone like that, who tainted our family's good name! Now, I know for sure, that she won't be getting one cent from me! Maybe, this is her turning point. Maybe... not! I hope it is!

I used some of the money to start my own business so, that way, I'll never have to lose money! Tomorrow, I'll be gone! I'll be going on the world famous- Titanic, taking me to New York!
Some people even said that the ship is so grand that even, "God" himself, cannot sink it. I don't buy that at all! It's common sense! All... ships sink!

I was surprised to see my mother again! She was accompanying the Hockleys (Cal and his fiancee). I took "one" look at them and immediately knew... I didn't like them so, I tried to get out of their way as much as possible!
Mr. Hockley was pleased to see me! Not so much for Mrs. Hockley. She was the typical rich snob, always giving me the look!
I already decided not to like her.
Cal had lost all of his money and the penthouse, but luckily, his father has enough to keep him and his little "wifey" out of trouble!
Ruth got accepted under their care.

Oh well, I don't care about the Hockleys. My father had already gotten out of a "horrible" debt! I didn't want to stir up anymore problems.
Officer Lowe came and took my bags. "May I show you to your stateroom?!?"
"No thank you sir! I just want to look around deck!"
Officer: Alright, ring me if you need anything! "Will do!"

After I put the glamorous piece of jewelry away, I went down to third class. I just wanted to hang onto my new life with everything I had! The dances were amazing. Jack: Jack Dawson! He held out his hand... "Rose Dewitt- Bukater." I was surprised! No one used to laugh at my jokes! Everything I said was unimportant. I felt... used... I took him to a glass case where it contained the Heart of the Ocean. I had it trapped in a glass case where I didn't want anybody to look at. I guess, I had no use for it. Jack whistled just like I expected he would. "Some rock...!..." Rose: Diamond. All... pure... diamond. Jack: If I had something like this, I'd be... filthy... rich! Rose: It's a dreadful thing to lug around!

"That is enough Rose!"
She watched her mother straighten herself, pretending to look smart! For once, she wished for a mother who didn't expect so... highly of her. Who was proud of her for who... she was. The independent spirited Rose! "Oh stop it mother! There are over thousands of people on this... board and you're the only one who acts- critical!" She was almost triumphant at the way her mother paled and looked ready to bolt at any... rate!
She looked so perplexed at the way I had tore down her wall that it was almost... comical! I don't know why she's so shocked! She's got to know that I've been saving energy for this...
Like I said, I don't care about my mother or estranged ex- fiancee! That life is... over!
The new Rose had gained freedom and belonging while the old Rose was slowly beginning to die! Sure, at times, I still can get into my old habit of being the first class society lady, but all the module my mother left behind was gone. I was no longer the same girl who was smiling for no reason. Plastering on fake sincerities. I was no longer the fractured girl! That fractured girl... became a woman! A woman who defied odds to get to where she is, to get to freedom!
