In the last few years, Rose had been making a lot of money being an actress and she had gotten a Mansion on Crawford St. in the middle of New York's town square! The mansion is surrounded by flowers and orchid trees. There is a big circular pond in the middle and she is one of the wealthiest society ladies in New York!
The people there were friendly and treated women with equal respect!
They believe in equal rights and that everyone should have their own opinions without someone influencing them. That was good because she didn't have mother or Cal around!
She was also the first female activist, choosing- not... "in" for the money, but actually giving genuine care!
People were surprised!

First class society are so dull! So drab! If you're not in their circle, you can't speak to them/talk to them and if you don't have money, you... can't look at them. It's just the way things run! The... way things are done! If you don't have money, don't talk to them!
Everyone treats them like a princess!
Ruth: Have tea with us darling?
Ah yes, mother. I can still hear her overly made up voice ringing in my ears!
People were surprised that I got the largest and most extravagant stateroom. I had ordered a particular suit and there was only left! There was a canceling as I heard the couple turned out, broke.
