A mugging lands Buffy in the hospital with no recollection of her past.
Buffy: So what you're trying to say is that those memories are fake.
Doctor: I am sorry miss, but that is all I got from your records.
Buffy: Can't you try and pull something from the other files. There's got to be something in there! I mean how can I just pop out of nowhere? She was desperate to get the facts straight.

With a deflated look, she went back to her room. She could only stare blankly out the window. With no name or identity...........

Spike was ready to bash these people's heads in. "I want a straight answer from you ponces! Now, where the h*ll did you put her?" The doctors held up their hands in mock surrender. Suddenly, the lady talking to Buffy appeared in front of him. "We don't know any Buffy Summers. If you don't leave now, I will be happy to call the police!"

Spike took a few long strides before changing directions, banging this doctor's head against the counter. He spat out, "I know you have her!"

When the lady in the lab coat turned back around, she was nose to nose with a not so happy vampire. "I'll gladly tear out the throat of this bloody b*tch if you won't tell me where you keep her!" It's been too long since I allowed my demon free reign he said to her angrily.

The woman tried to break free of his grip. She said, "I won't tell you anything you fanged beast!" He laughed and then quickly sobered up. 'I want the names of all people involved or this one gets it!'

He held both sides of her head like he was going to pop it free from the joints. Finally, someone confessed that it was their doing. 'We were wrong about you William the Bloody. You are good at keeping your words.' One word gets out about this and I won't be able to stop my demon from slaughtering the lot of you!

You would just love to get the slayer and leave wouldn't you said a voice he hated with every fiber of his being. He spun around only to be clocked in the jaw. And then he met Riley with his fist, pounding the bejus out of the former soldier boy. 'You! You put Buffy here in the first place!' He grabbed Riley and body slammed him to the ground. "You are the world's biggest pillock!" He deliberately broke Riley's nose with a sick crack. "And you will never, I repeat NEVER come near her again!!!!!!!!!!"

Lucky for Riley, the police had gotten there fast enough to pull Spike off of him. One of the officers had choked on his cigarette when he saw Riley. He was there when IT happened. When Riley had made a full attempt to try and kill Buffy. It had shook her up and then the next thing flashed in his mind. The wood breaking through the girl's shirt, causing the skin to bleed. He looked at this man. Truly looked at him. 'Get him out of my sight sergeant!'

What turned you into an evil killer Riley?
Spike remembered everything she said to captain america that night. He had killed a man to redeem himself to her. But what it did was SO much worse. He had chased her right into Spike's arms, all of it his own doing. And then she had slammed the door in his face, telling him not to come back.

Riley didn't like having to be told off by some female so he had to make her pay. His mistake had almost cost her life. "Why didn't you let me kill that bastard?" He knew the officer and had a cup of coffee with him once. Before everything happened and before Riley. "Spike buddy, being around death for so long, you just learn to stop feeling. I don't see it that way. What I see is that life is too short, might as well bask in it rather than skip out of it."

It's Buffy's own fault she's ALONE!!!!!! Riley had screamed all the way to the jailhouse that night. It took 4 to 5 officers to strap him down. 'God SHUT UP, before we execute you NOW!!!!!!!' Mike was used to handling these type of people. Screamers, liars, and smartasses. But this guy was way below the belt even for him. He was trying to get under his skin and it was working. Mike rememembered that part too well. The struggle with Riley, Riley trying suicide, Riley battling for the gun, the gun going off. It was too much.

It was overloading his brain. "I confess I'm not the strongest man, but I have my big points too." Even before all this happened, Riley thought about only one person: Riley. Mike cares about other people. He wasn't built by some half crazed professor or was he super strong like Buffy and Spike, but that's what made him Mike. He could still help even without super human abilities or enhanced strength of a vampire. It was all well worth the wait he told Spike.

Something vibrated in his pocket and he reached in to fish out his cell phone. "Oop, gotta run man!" He stuck it back into his pocket before pulling out a stack of cash. 'Here, buy something for the girl. You can pay me back later.............'

Spike shook his head as he watched the man take off down the road. "It's good to know you care buddy." He wanted to run out of that building. He just wanted to see Buffy. 'Where the h*ll are you luv?' 'I have to know that you're alright. I'll sleep better knowing you are.........'
