I had to watch the episode on a different tv than I usually watch it on (SAC LE BLEEEEU) and so as I was rushing upstairs to watch it, I missed a a bit of it at the start, the tardisy bit (their was one wasn't there? I've been reading a minute by minute commentary and it mentions a phone and our sexy duo flying all over the place bit in the tardis) I catched it when they got on board the ship and people were like "what who are you? why are you so attractive?"

It was supposed to be "42" minutes long minus the credits, so their were no credits (I think.) and we went straight in.

I loved Martha some of her lines were a bit blah, but the guy who wrote this episode does write for Torchwood so that explains it , I loved the doctor, I loved Riley, I loved Michelle Collins's character in her last scene, before that she was a bit meh.

THE MARTHA/RILEY KISS! DAYAM, I knew there would be a kiss between them, but I thought he would kiss her, go girrrll and her "hot" comment I could ship them..... but I went back to darthaism, HE GAVE HER A KEEEEY! YWAYHEEEEY, they're offically engaged.

IZZIE FROM HOLLYOAKS WAS IN IT and Anthony Flannagan who is in shameless and was in a Life on mars episode, wayheeey.

damn Martha was on fire, I wanted to slap her mum, she's can be so mean, don't even ask your daughter how she is or anything!, all we get is nagging from you mrs jones! YOU SNITCH!!!!! she called Saxon!
haha I loved that she phoned home to "win a pub quiz" I loved the "here comes the sun" line from The Doctor too.
When Martha told Michelle Collins to stfu, I cheered, someones a Ian Beale fan.
the "I'll save you" bit was terribly shippy, therefore I loved it, it was so sad and then he says he can't loose her and nearly kills himself to save her, awwwww cheesealific and their "Believe in me doctor!!!!!!!, I'm not leaving you" "I'm so scared Martha I need a snog to feel better!" scene was fantastic.

Cor Riley, I loved the Martha/Riley pod scenes, It would have been fantastic if he joined the doctor and Martha in the tardis, then The Doctor would have his "menz gotta stop stealin ma wimminz" face (that he had on after she snogged Riley) on permanently... ok that might have been a "oh crap I got possessed and nearly died ewww global warming" face, but if he saw them kissing (he did from his monitor!!!!!! he can see outside!!!) he is/would be jealous and angry! yay dark emo doctor!

I liked their kiss, cor blimey, if that was "hot" The Jack/Martha one will be fantastic, I'm afraid that Martha might become my female space hoe, The Doctor is my male one, seriously, Martha/Shakespere, Martha/Frank, Martha/sonic Screwdriver? isn't there anyone this woman doesn't have chemistry with?

I liked the episode, fast paced, sweaty, it was good

I've read the spoilers for the next episode, sounds great "human hmm " OH MR SMIIIITH!

i put it on at exactly 715 and it seemed like it had been on for ages then the credits happened i was hoping for the sort of just the main two ep , so was dissapointed with ther guests getting so much screen time

when she was palling up with that northern git i found myself missing Rose probably in spite

i noticed izzie and that strange man united fan from lIFE ON mARS

i think i was bitter at the ep starting early so was anti almost everything from the start its my fault though not a sign of a poor ep

Martha to be axed after one series what a shocking rumour
i was thinking after a while it might be good to get rid of them after one series so we dont get attached and have to face the devestating Rose trauma again

my Season 3 has been a bit mah bla WHAT ouu ugh WHA? hasn't it? fantastic episodes with some meh episodes mixed in...

AND THIS WAS FANTASTIC!

I'm liking it so far!

It was a good episode but very 2 partery, you need mooooar! it is based on a seventh doctor DW novel (voted best novel by doctor who magazine ) and the episode was adapted by the novelist too, good work Jolly good show, old chap.

I need to rewatch it, smashing stuff though, Rose, Girl in the fire place! (ITS CANON THAT HE IS A SLUT! YEEESS! also Reinette! girl in fire place! yay! ten/reinette forever!) drawings of previous incarnations (he misses his old faces ) and daleks, they have to stick them in every single episode, don't they?

that Martha girl was fantastic and that John Smith bloke was a bit poopy but wonderfull and that Joan girl, sweet! I loved the "I'm a nurse your just a maid! you know nuffin" scene, haha oh you sally.

Aye captin she was!, The Doctor was off being a poncy posh 1913 type person, and Martha was left to do the maidin (2 months Jesus o'leary!) and savin da worldin (or rather savin' the doctor's ass) and she was great! great performance from Freema! (I love the knocking action shes so stubborn and eyerollalific, she reminds me of me sometimes although Rose does too a little bit, cor I'm Martose! .. I wish her name was Waitha now, what a cool ship name they would have, Waitrose )

Some guy called Paul Cornell wrote it: www.imdb.com/name/nm0180280/ he wrote Father's day too (and a few robin hood and casualty episodes ) it would be good if they made him a full time writer! both the episodes hes written have been great, and if one of his Novels has been called the best dw book ever, he's probably not a bad writer I hope they bring him back to do a few more episodes

Gattis can do one once in a while but I like him better when hes acting

Quite a few things have changed actually according to the wikipedia page , but it still works!... of course I would say that since I haven't read the book, but most of the fandom seems happy with the episode (some even saying its their favourite episode of new!who )

Actually I didn't mind this one, I love me some mentions, but I agree when they make Martha go to Glumchester it sucks (if Rose got the same "Sarah Jane would know" "you're just a novice, not like my tin husband K-9" She would have went to Glumchester too, hey maybe her and Martha could meet up what a fun episode/fic that would be.)
I didn't like that one in Shakespere's Code on the bed, because I thought that was a bit mean (Talk about mixed signals "hey baby get in my bed! NOW " then he disses her when he only met her what a day/couple of hours ago? he frakkin calls her a novice and he compares her to the ex! he hardly knew her then!) But I liked this "mention" even if Martha was sad, since the Doctor didn't do it purposely, and it wasn't random and it made sense (he writes about his life and we see the parts about the last 2 years and to have no Rose in that? you can't deny she was important to him and the last two seasons!) But to have John falling for Joan right in front of her and then have him mention dreaming of Rose must have hurt.

I was thinking that Rose might be important in the finale though? it seems so late in the season to have more rose mentions (they're great, but the doctor seemed to stop mentioning her infront of Martha and started to enjoy life again, he doesn't even mention Gallifrey now and we know he misses her and his planet and race, but hes the type to keep his emo locked up inside, if he was the open type we'd have have him mentioning Gallifrey a zillion times or mentioning his grandaughter and his other companions and crying all the time these past 3 seasons.) maybe its important plotwise, maybe Martha and the doctor will have a big fight about it? MAYBE SAXON IS ROSE'S SON! DUN DUN DUUUUUUUUUUN.

or Maybe I just think too much.

Talking about the book, I also like that its implied he wrote about other women too (probably his companions? runaway brides? - if only Martha read it, she would realize hes just a big ho, no need to go to Glumtown martha!) and how when Joan mentions it, John doesn't deny that hes a huge Giggalo

I love that theirs no free spaces on the pages, and that he has to draw over them, like their was so much going on in his head and in his dreams, he probably spent hours writing his entries... or rather the guys at the prop department did.

I saw some screencaps of the journal and theirs pages ripped out from it and I read some of the caps, yay Doctor/Rose and Doctor/Reinette angst and bad drawings of Hartnell's doctor and Paul McGann's sexy doctor!

yeah its too good for one watch I think I've forgotten half of the things that happened too

OH SHIZ, MARTHA'S LATEST BLOG ENTRY

Dear god, its shippy, THEY WENT TO EUROVISION! HAHA, canon!!!!...well kinda:

The Doctor is gone.

He's lying outside the TARDIS and he's breathing but he's not the Doctor any more. And I'm scared because of what he's done to himself so I'm writing this in case something happens.

It all started after we left the Torajii system. Well I say it all started, it never actually stopped. We just went to so many places and got caught up in so many things. We met shape-changing aliens and people who weren't real and creatures everyone thought were extinct. We went back in time and forward in time and just... it never stopped! So, then we found ourselves back in the TARDIS and the Doctor asked me where I wanted to go next. And I said that I'd like to go somewhere where we could just sit and chat, you know. Like normal people do! So I figured he'd take me to Starbucks or something. But, yeah, this is the Doctor we're talking about...

He took me to this place called the Eye of Orion. It was beautiful. So calm and still and alien but not in a bad way. . He told me that, back in the old days, the Eye of Orion used to be sort of like a holiday resort. But now it's this shrine to the Time War. It was all ruins and grass and mist and just so quiet. We went to a meadow and standing in it was this stone that was about the same height as me. He said it was a war memorial. I asked him why there weren't any names on it and he said it was because too many people had died. I took his hand and we sat down. And we sat there, huddled under a blanket, drinking tea from an old thermos.

And he told me about the Time War. It reminded me of when I was a kid and Granddad told me about what he did during World War Two. It was this huge, big, incomprehensible historical thing that we learnt about at school but for the people who were there, it was their life. It wasn't something they learnt about or knew what had caused it or anything. One minute they were living their lives as normal, the next they were having to kill people and be killed and fight and... I remember my Granddad crying.

The Doctor didn't cry. He just looked so lost and sad. He told me about what happened at Arcadia and he told me about the friends he'd lost. The Time War was just inconceivably big and as he told me about it, I thought how strange it was that us lot on Earth hadn't known about it. And then I realised that it wasn't the first time a war had been going on in my lifetime which I'd not really noticed. And I felt pretty selfish. I've been so worried about my career and about keeping mum away from Annalise and whether I can afford a new jacket and so many other little stupid things when really I should be thanking people like Granddad and the Doctor for just giving me the chance to live.

After a while, he went silent and we just held hands and sat there. And it was perfect. Then he jumped up, looked down at me and said that it was time to have some fun! 'Less angst, more fun!' were his words.

And he took me to Helsinki. To last year's Eurovision contest! I was slightly concerned that he genuinely seemed to enjoy the music and he was embarrassingly excited about the Slovenian entry who had lights on her hand, but it was a brilliant night. We had such a laugh, and I tell you something, he's not a bad mover! We both agreed there was something pretty cool about how only a few years before all these countries had been at war and now they're sending camp men dressed in foil to sing bad songs at some concert.

Anyway, we didn't stay for the results because we both already knew who won - sorry Scooch, that's time travel, you know what's coming. So we left the arena and we were just returning to the TARDIS when we saw this green light glowing from around the corner – and we could hear the sound of someone sniffing! I just assumed it was part of the celebrations but the Doctor went to check anyway. And within seconds, he was bombing back round the corner with his hands over his face. Followed, naturally, by laser fire. He pushed me into the TARDIS and ran in after me, shutting the doors. I asked him what was going on and he told me about this hunting family or something. He'd recognised them cos of the green stuff and the sniffing - but, luckily, they hadn't seen his face, or mine, which meant we had a chance. Problem is they'd be able to trace him because he's the only Time Lord that's left. So, he told me that the only way he could escape from them was to stop being a Time Lord and become human. And that's what he's done. Just like that.

And it all feels like it's happened so quickly. I'm about to leave the TARDIS now. We're in 1913 where he reckons we should be safe. I've got to drag him out to a field and when he wakes up, I've got to say he was in an accident and that we're on our way to his new job. As for me, I've got to be Martha the ever-so-humble maid. A while back, if he'd suggested that I'd have told him where to get off but after everything he's been through? After everything he's done for the rest of us? No, I'll be fine. Yeah, I'll be fine.

they've (or Martha) have also refered to the adventures in the season 3 doctor who novels, so I guess that they're set between "42" and "human nature".

bwaha scooch! I would love it if they mentioned eurovison on the show "remember the ukrainian entry of the 2007 eurovision song contest, Martha?" "Remember it? YOU COULDN'T STOP SINGING THE SONG AFTER IT! even when you became human that one time you hummed the tune!!!!"


It did look like it had been a while since "42" they changed their clothes sac le bleeeeeeu, and the whole running in the tardis and the doctor panicking thing suggested they had just had an awesome adventure (at eurovison ) and were in deep poop then the tardis took them to 1913 and Martha had to be a maid for 2 MONTHS thanks tardis! whatevaaaaa!

It's nice to see the Tardis and Martha bond (THE TARDIS LIVVVES) and her talking to it she seems to feel safe there she's forgiven her! (I think its obvious the tardis is a woman, only a woman could be that cruel and then become your best friend after realizing that you're just both the same and after the same man, so stuff him and wait till Jack arrives! )

I think the ship names weve come up with lately just havent cut the mustard so none ofthese couples are meant to be except Rosema (rose maratha )

The cornnster has one of the shows defining eps and the best of this series so far possibly good work squire

Gattiss wants to be the doc but wont make hearts throb i fear his antarctica film was a smash though

I think the Rose mentions are a bit real and deserved due to her magnificence and impact but its time to not let it get in the way of dartha Martha will pounce on the doc then after a wild night will say '' so you gong to mention her again ? no ? thought not ''

they had book only adventures we dont see they sound better than what we are seeing

they neeed to make it 22 eps a year as theyve got stuff to show Marth/doc bonding then Jacks return ( that should be put off a while )

- theirs been a list (Don't know if its official) of writers for series 4, no Cornantor Their is that guy who wrote "The Lazerous experiment" which I enjoyed, who is apparently the creator of famous (in scotland ) scottish bbc soap "River City" and Rusty is going to write 4 episodes including the X-Mas special, no Gattis next year
- Och I wasnay saying that they aren't deserved, but I'm agreeing with you about Martha's Glumchesterness, Rose mentions are great but not too much and not in front of Martha because you don't want to undermine the new character and ruin the doctor and martha's bond (Well the martha haters and anti-D/Mists do but you know what I mean) it would be good if the doctor sat her down and talked about his companions with her, so you don't have a school reunionesque episode where Martha says "wot? you had other people on he tardis! I thought I and that girl you mention every five minutes were the only one!, next you'll be telling me your tardis is a alive and you and her are married!!!" doctor: err heh.... well not married exactly, been dating for 900 years, Martha: *Faints*

- She didn't make it up! a guy behind a computer screen who is a dw geek and proffesional writer made it It is sanctioned by the bbc and Rusty T but If you don't see it as Canon I don't think it matters, since we haven't actually seen these things happening onscreen, it is obvious (to me anyway ) that its been a while since "42" and "human nature" so I'll take this as my own personal canon, I'LL ALWAYS BELIEVE THEY WENT TO EUROVISION!!!!! its like a fanfic thats probably canon I think this has been the best entry so far
- I Agree we're only 5 episodes away till the end (And two episodes are part of a 2 parter) and it feels like series 3 only started yesterday and we've just started having some good Martha/Doctor bondalific scenes and I think that Martha might be angry at the doctor after her having to be his maid and scrubbing his floors for two months and him not believing her and him being slightly racist so it would have be good to have a couple of episodes after this so they could rebond, then BANG! they could bring Jack back and steal her away from him actually if they're relationship does go down hill (I hope not, we've already spent half this season with her not being sure if he even liked her or not!) it might be fun to bring jack back SO HE RUINS IT ALL muahaha! and then he could steal her away from him yay!

I'm sad that its nearly finished but glad because CAPTAIN JACK IS BACK SOON! AND SO IS JOHN SIMM!! yess

I hope they turn Mr.Saxon into the new daleks aka bring him back every season
