No, they were just never taught. Perhaps I'll do some project that has to be presented in front of the class that involves teaching this....
My dad thought Britain/UK/England were the same.

This is what happens when you have Georgy for your president. Exactly! if britain was just England, it would be called england! not britain! Same with accents, I say I have a british accent, everyone automatically Thinks I have a english one, I say Mines scottish and They're like "ohh You're accent isnt British its scottish" what the?
