If he'd axed the cast for these lot that would be quite horrendous. Perhaps River would be played by Lara Flynn Boyle or whatever her name is...ech.

Like a "Storyteller" type ep of Firefly? Wash could do the amusing narration in between, sitting on his pilot's chair and fiddling with his...dinosaurs.

I wonder if he'd spend a good portion of the time showing Jayne and Book's comraderie as they work out. It's a wonder there's been no fic about them.
Strangely, I can see River looking into the camera really close up, spouting a bunch of babble and then stealing the camera from Wash and running away with it giggling like a lunatic.
I can also see the episode starting off with just the dinosaurs in frame of the camcorder, as Wash acts out a little play with them about the characters on board.
Ah, my imagination.
