I was confused for awhile. I thought she was with Mal and was cheating on him...haha. But then the guy said something about speeding up her clock and I was like "Is she a prostitute?" I got my answer later when they were talking to the shepard guy. haha

I thought she was with Mal because in the movie which obviously took place later they seemed to have this thing in the past and I thought maybe that was on the series! hahaha
Yes, the guy she was "with" said something about her speeding up her clock to cheat men out of their fun or something or other.
