Doctor Who Thread - Pt.2

I think they handled (or rather Moffat) the caring about characters who aren't The Doc and Martha thing well, in 42 it was a bit bla and you were like "oh well, yeah they died, so wheres the tardis going next?" but in this episode you (or maybe it was just Me ) really cared wheither they lived or died, I'd like to think that maybe Ben and Sally grew old together and the doctor picked them up when they were 70 and invited them on his ship for eye doing and emoing.

Their was doing between Baines and Martha in the last episode too (OMGZ DEY EYE DOO OTHA PEOPLEZ) during the gun "oh shes a brave one " scene

I think it was something along the lines of Kath and Sally opening a detective agency or something along those lines and talking about how "Sparrow and Nightingale" would be the name for it then Sally I think it said it would be on itv or was very itv, I'm crap at remembering lines, I'd be a horrible actor

The Writers come out with some great lines, especially Steven Moffat, who is my writer of the week (Sorry cornell)

I cried when Billy died well not cried, but a tear did escape although I'd like to think he was happy with his wife and had a great life, but still she stayed with him and then the rain stopped I loved their flirting action.

I'd hope Martha would punch him but she's a strong girl, she even asked if he wanted her to ask joan if she would travel with him (even if that would mean that he would leave Martha which I don't think he would even if Martha thinks he would, hes the type of guy that thinks more the merrier.) I think it would hurt her, but she wouldn't brake down crying and she'd deal with it.
I think Sally would be a good companion, not as cool or hip as Martha and Rose and Jack (and maybe season 2 Mickey ) but still good, I'd like her to come in during Martha's last few episodes though or maybe season, so they could bond a little, and then the doctor and Sally would emo about how they both fancied her and Jack is good in bed but he ran off with Ianto

edit: I'm liking the Doctor/Martha action though, so I'd prefer if we didn't have another companion just yet

I'd love to see Sally in torchwood, with Jack ... forget about the other cast members, just them two and maybe Ben.

wouldn't it be fantastic if the same actor played the other character? You'd have manips/fanfics all over the place if he did There are a lot of life on mars/doctor who crossover fanfics but I'd love to see more especially after this episode (1969!!! THATS 4 YEARS BEFORE 1973 )

also this episode was scary! it does deserve the 5.5 the kids on the dw site gave it the Sally and Ben trying to get into the tardis scene was scary and so was the If ben closes his eyes he gon die/go back in time and hurry up you sally! scene.

Larry was the DVD guy who I keep calling ben, I think Ben was the guy that looked like justin lee collins, he has great chemistry with Sally
Billy - the cool copper "life is short and you are hot!"
Kathy - Sally's friend that ended up in 1920.

he does look wonderfull when drawn The story is good! bit different from "Blink" (no angels, and burping tardis! ) but its nice, I'd love it if Sally turned out to be a Spy! she'd go around giving people her old essays, like the zany sally she is.

they will, people will start watching when they hear that they've added personality having characters to the show (I'm giving Torchwood a chance! When DW finishes, I'll watch the first series of torchwood again on full )

that would be amazing! although I'd prefer if the actress was older (maybe in her mid 30s?) so she didn't look like a 12 year old compared to Mr Hunt (its ok if shes played by Billie or Freema though!) but it would work !!!

Well, have you missed me?

Of course, you've probably not noticed I've been away. Time travel's funny like that. But, yeah, we've just spent a few weeks trapped in 1969! Which, to be fair, was more cheery than 1913.

It all started when we, yet again, arrived in 2007. I'm not sure why we keep going back there but I'm seriously hoping it's not because that's when Rose was from. Anyway, we landed in the grounds of this old house called Wester Drumlins. It was pretty cool actually. The kind of place Mum used to drag us to when we were kids. And in the garden, there were these statues. Only, they weren't statues. They were aliens of some sort. The Doctor said they're called Weeping Angels. Of course, he only realised that AFTER they'd zapped us back to 1969 – leaving the TARDIS behind. So, yeah, that's where we've been. The Swinging Sixties. Rock on!

Bless him, he had a bit of a panic about being separated from the TARDIS but I calmed him down. Told him we'd be fine. And, for once, I honestly knew that we would because we had this folder telling us what we needed to do. It was all this information compiled by this woman called Sally who lived in 2007. And she compiled it based on what we'd told her – in our future but her past. Time travel... it can seriously mess with your mind!! I asked the Doctor to explain it all to me but he started babbling on about timey-wimey devices so I stuck a banana in his mouth.

So, really, it was a case of the Doctor setting up all this stuff for Sally while I... lived, I guess. We got ourselves a little flat. Tiny little place that makes mine back home look like a palace. Oh and before you ask, he stayed on the sofa! Of course, to pay for it all, I had to get a job. In a shop. Now, there's nothing wrong with working in a shop. It beats being a maid anyway but it's a bit of a step down from being a nearly-Doctor. It was a bit of a laugh really. Got on great with the other girls although it was a shock to suddenly realise that they were the same age as my mum! So, yeah, days were spent in the shop and evenings either out with the girls or staying in and watching telly with the Doctor. Oh, now that's funny. You should have seen him, sitting watching the telly eating his dinner off a tray. He looked so uncomfortable. And I know it's cruel and wrong to laugh at that but him all hunched up on this tiny sofa, his gangly legs sticking out while he ate his beans and watched Coronation Street... it was like the most alien thing I think I've seen yet. Oh, and one night, we watched the Eurovision concert! Lulu was one of the winners with Boom Bang-a-Bang which was weird. Not her winning but the whole fact that only a few weeks ago we were at the 2007 Eurovision. It really brought home how all this time travel thing is just all a bit mental. In 1913, seeing Tim as a young kid then seeing him again in 2008 as an old man. Working with girls my age who are really my mum's age. Going from the 2007 Eurovision to watching the 1969 Eurovision. Being in the year where Harold Saxon was born but coming from the year where he's standing for Prime Minister. It's a bit like... everything's linked. Time isn't this linear thing that we think it is. Like there's, I dunno, some kind of pattern. Or something. I guess I'm just seeing the bigger picture. Hark at me getting all profound!

But yeah, ignoring all the head-messing madness of time travel, it's been fun. It's just been nice to spend some time with the Doctor where we're not running around fighting off alien invaders or whatever. We've just had time to sit and watch a bit of telly, eat normal food that kind of thing. You know, like normal friends do.

But it's also good to be off again. Not sure where we're heading. He's mentioned something about topping-up but I'm guessing he doesn't mean his mobile.

So, I'll speak to you soon from whatever year we next end up in! Rock on!.

if this is canon its messin wit ma mind maaaan, I assumed that this was waaay (mid season 4 ) into the future because of Martha's long hair and the doctor and martha's closer old bickering couple type relationship (I loved them fighting outside of the taxi )

I was blown away by the first episode! and loved Gwen in it, then I watched more and felt sorry for her boyfriend and wanted someone to slap her and tell her to choose already and I love me some emo, but it seemed like we hardly got any Fun!Jack anymore can't he pretend he's happy sometimes, like the doctor does?

he could even get away with having a girlfriend in her 80s he could, he has won over the 18 year olds afterall she'll fall for him as soon as he opens his mouth "oh he's such a chauvanist! I love him!"

Their were Rose haters when Rose was on the show, but since they have nothing to complain about anymore most of them have moved on to either loving or hating Martha there have been people pooed off by the Roseness (haters maaan) and some have been people pooed off at the refrences, most people I think are ok with them and the people that haven't been big fans of all of them aren't fond of them because some of them have been infront of Martha and they are making her unhappy etc, but you have people that still don't like Rose, and I think never will and will say "ugh she wasn't that special you know, she wasn't K-9!!!!" etc

she'll start getting jealous of Jack's bond with the Doctor when he comes along although it looks like its the doctor whos going to be jealous of Martha and Jack's bond from the trailer (Jack's always stealing his wimmins )

timey-wimey! they're so very carry onish! I can hear Kenneth Williams gasping and smirking and saying "ohhh I say!" and sid james giggling in a manly way somewhere oh those two they're so cheeky and so are ken and sid its like the lazerus experiment all over again "nice shoes" yeaaah doctor we know what you really meant!

It would have been fantastic, but this was the doctor lite episode that they make because they don't want to spend too much on special effects/or give the main actors money I hope we get flashbacks too

Eurovision this, eurovision that! all they (and the doctor) care about is eurovision! I hope that they do some european visioney stuff on the show too, the doctor could kill a whole race by playing them this years ukraine entry

hopefully we'll get them during series 4 I'm hoping for some lovely flashbacks where The Doctor and Martha are at Woodstock and they watch Hendrix play, cooooool maaan, rad, rockin peace and all that

i had a remarkable fondness for her gaptoothed turoil early on too , expecting betrayal of the boyfriend wasnt far away i wonder was it actually goodd all along but we just gave up

Rose and Martha both deserved there moments in the spotlight i think its going along as it should , but we need to up the ante with Dartha a bit

i like the dark almost graveyardy buffyish setting of the trailer jack to steal martha or will the jealousy he creates force the doctor to officially try it on with Martha will barrowman now be playing jack like the barrowman we see on johnathan ross interviews

i bet next series will havee a full on eurovision ep set at the event the phonelines to vote will be fuelling a dalek takeover or something

im picturing rose tinted shades and pipes being passed around i want those flashbacks! i demand them

they love giving us stuff to misread to our hearts content i think theyre clearly at it
