Gene working in a pub was fantastic

he managed to offend all the irish people in the uk and the sari wearing people too right at the end, dear God, I love him and his racism!!!!!!!!!! how many times did he say Paddy in that episode? I lost count!

I like depressed!Ray, he annoys me usually, but I "felt" for him during this episode, he might be a dick (Gene is all gob and a few punches, but you can tell that he's a good guy, Rayis just a plonker) most of the time, but poor him in this episode

elevated? he passed them on the fantastically offensive scale during the first episode!

NOOO DON'T DISLIKE SAM!, DISLIKE ANNIE! I think shes the only one, I don't hate but, not fond of, I can see that they want to pair up the two and will probably have a emotional emo, end of season 2 of buffy/Doctor and Rose saying goodbye ending for them, and all I keep thinking is "don't you have a girlfriend in the form of Archie Punjabi at home? isn't she kidnapped and in danger?" its perfectly fine if he wants to get together with Gene though Annie is ok, I like her friendship with Sam, but I prefer Sam/Gene

I think Sam is the character that is supposed to represent us, everytime Gene says something offensive, its ok for us to love him, because Sam is the one who rolls his eyes and says "why don't you arrest *names some irish famous people, possibly footballers* too while you're at it?" and says what we are feeling/supposed to be feeling, hes the one from our time, who has to deal with 70s life like we do when we see it, so points of view can just say "Don't complain! Sam is dealing with it! watch eurovision!"

I like him! he's goodish and that annoys Gene, but he's always right at the end, and you can tell Gene likes him and trusts him, even though he gets on his nerves sometimes they're like the Buffy/Spike of the 70s time travel cop world! he's a wonderfull sally, but Gene is still my favourite

I liked the one Chris scene in this episode, hes such a tool, I love him I don't think he said anything hilarious, but when they were going through the little hole thing to get to the bomb and he was saying "how far does this go!" or something along those lines, haha, he's the baby of the group, I love that scene in season 1 when he's eating a sandwhich and rubs all of his fingerprints on the evidence and sam is just rolling his eyes and thinking "Oh God where am I?"

and Patrick O'Brien confused me, he said his Grandpa came from Ireland to Britain, but wouldn't that mean that his Dad/Mother would have been born in Manchester and had a manc accent and he would too? maybe he meant that he left his family in Ireland, and came to Manchester a couple of years earlier, thats nice of him

he'd probably be the type of old style copper who retired but owned and ran a pub and never had any trouble from the customers

i think my oldies might not have enjoyed this eps theme Gene's remark about looking up the o' section of the phonebook for suspects was great and when he said someone had ''more lip than mick jagger '' i was mightily pleased

i barely notice the non gene/sam characters i sort of dont get if theyre really evil types or just bumbling likeable idiots Annie's alright , i can sense heartbreak coming for her

I think its a bit dishonest for the writers to pretend that we're appalled by gene and always agree with Sam i think Sams just there to excuse us for loving gene ''its ok folks we all hate gene , look at sam dissaproving of him ''

Chris is dim he might excel in the new show

yeah, he'd roll up his sleeves as soon as a punter got out of hand and they'd know to calm down or get out, and after throwing punters out Gene would say "never support Manchester United again and stay out you united loving sally!"

haha I thought that, I'm thought "Some people in britain, mostly liverpool are probably not enjoying this episode that much" not ok with Prejudice? how weird of them! yeah the O bit was great haha, and Sam was looking at him and thinking "WTF? no one in 2006/07 would say that!" yeah because all Irish people have surnames that start with O

yeah everyone in britain Hates the Irish and think all women she should be housewives and call men female names when we are annoyed by them those weird writers I think Gene scenes are much better when Sam is there, he's still fantastic, but It would be boring if it was just Ray and Gene all the time, Sam brings conflict and sexual tention!

ohh it was great! Ray got hurt and annie was like "only friends can give him money!" ohhhh! and gene didn't say anything and just kept looking at Sam like he wanted to marry him! the sam-is-wrong-but-rightness of last nights episode was fantastic!

I've only ever watched a couple of episodes of Prison break, so he's number one for me!
(the Spike loving BTVS fandom would go crazy if they heard me now! )

if he didn't like sam you know he could easily get rid of him/send him to a insane asylum, he pretends hes stuck with him and tries to "cope" with the "situation" but hes the one who bursts into his bedroom without knocking (that scene in the first series all the gene/sam shippers squeed! ) , and drives there just to meet him (no waiting at the station for him!) its sweet, in a 70s copper way

he could murder someone and everyone would say "aww its ok, he's just chris!"

me too, or Gene cries in a very Rose Tyler at the end of season 2 fashion, and Chris would say "Guv are you crying?" and Gene would elbow him and say "No you sally, I just have sand stuck in my eyes!...I went playing....at the beach" and sam would wink at him and say "meet you when you're 80 years old or so" and dissapear, we'll probably get that from Annie, but I'm hoping the gene/sam goodbye will be sad

It would be fantastic if their was a fic with Gene and Sam in it, what would have been more fantastic is, that Gene was in new york (he had to go there, in connection with a murder or something like that ) and bumped into him while he was at the park slagging off the other slayer he killed, I'm sure when most Americans realize what Life On Mars is (thanks to the remake ) someone will write an American!GeneplayedbyRosieOdonnell/Spike fic

I think most of the fandom are Gene/Sam shippers well I know that theirs a lot on LJ much more Gene/Sam fanfic than other fics its just the chemistry and the fantasticness of the duo! that coupled with the obvious attraction sam has to gene and gene's good looks! they're the OTP of OTPS

they would have no choice after he ruins the evidence by eating sandwiches ontop of them and accidently wiping away the fingerprints by rubbing his sandwiches all over them

really? I find it easy, its how I get Free Irish currys at all the irish restraunts, I make the chef's remember their lovely ireland when I pronounce Irish surnames correctly "yes yes, Kavanagh, Kennan, yes yes O'Brien, can I get a curry now?" i can see a gene spike slanging match quite easily rosie o'donnells belligerent enough to play gene but has no gene likeability so shes not getting the role

AN 80 year old gene scene would be fantastic, the last episode, Sam walks along a street thinking "why does no one have trousers with flares? why is no one insulting the irish? why does that Ford Mondeo have a Sat Nav?" etc and bump into a 80!year old Gene, he could be walking along a street looking attactive and wrinkly and talking to himself about those Irish Sallys, and he'd bump into Sam andsay "WATCH WHERE YOU'RE GOING YOU NORAH! I WAS A DCI!" then look at him and say "what the bloody barbra?" and then it would end what a fantastic ending

then his son Simon le bon would phone him and say "dad! have you seen my anti-wrinkle cream?" then cue titles

the new episode looks fantastic, I was wondering if that girl was his wife but she doesn't look very Hippyish to me

and he'd be saying "ay up kid, ah say, ah say" and Gene would be so shocked he would again say a female name out loud, "OH MY ASHWARIYAAAAAAAAA"

they need at least one member walking past randomly! maybe when Gene slaps a random woman's bottom
