There's still awhile before it actually comes out but I figured we might as well have a thread for it
I'll share some pics and news with you here, there ARE some SPOILERS in them, so be warned.
There's also news, which I won't be posting here, at least not yet, that the writers of Superman Returns are in talks with the writers on Smallville and are trying to respect the show and keep some aspects of it.

LOS ANGELES: Bryan Singer, director of the first two X-Men movies, terms his latest project “Superman Returns” a love story.
The movie features newcomer Brandon Routh and Kate Bosworth. It focuses on Clark Kent, Superman's alter ego as he travels to Metropolis after several years of trying in vain to find his parents.
He returns to find that his former love interest now has a boyfriend and a child.
According to USA Today, Singer said: “It's a story about what happens when old boyfriends come back into your life after they've been gone a few years and things have changed. Superman has always been about Lois Lane, Superman and Clark Kent and this love triangle between these three people who are really only two people.”

Quote from the Movie:
Clark: Hi, Lois.
Lois: Look at the screen, it's the weather news.
Clark. Yeah. Um, Lois?
Lois: Oh no, it's going to rain on sunday.
Richard: Gosh, that's bad.
Clark: You know, we haven't seen each other in years and I thought, maybe-
Lois: I hope this report is wrong and it won't rain.
Clark: What the hell is so important about sunday's weather?
Lois: (looks at Clark for the first time) Because I'm getting married on sunday. Clark, this is my fiancé Richard, and this is our son Jason. I hope you'll be able to attend the wedding.

Superman Returns director Bryan Singer has unevield the first footage from the new Warner Bros. superhero film. Signer flew into the San Diego Comic-Con during a break from filming in Australia, and screened a three-and-a-half minute montage. John William's 1978 Superman theme played alongside dialogue from the film from Susannah York as Lara and Marlon Brando as Jor-El.
"Let's start with the big question: where'd you go?" asks Kate Bosworth's Lois Lane, before a scene where Superman is reunited with his adoptive mother, Martha. Brandon Routh's hero crashlands in Smallville after years traveling back to visit the remnants of his home planet in a Kryptonian spaceship.
"Did you find what you were looking for?" asks Martha. Offscreen, Clark replies, "That place was a graveyard. I'm all that's left," Martha responds. "Do you mean that you're the last? You're all alone?" The heor is overcome with grief.
Metropolis footage introduced Sam Huntington as Jimmy Olsen, Jack Larson as Bibbo and Frank Langella as Perry White, who tells Lois, "Three things sell papers: tragedy, sex and Superman." Clark encounters Lois and her new family, son Jason and fiance Richard White. "Have you met the munchkin?" asks Lois. She is later reunited with Superman on her apartment balcony.
"What about that girl you used to like? Lois Lane? The one you had me send all those postcards to?" asks Martha. "I don't know," replies Clark. His mother tells him, "You'ev been gone a long time. But not even you can stop the world from spinning."
Singer reports that Superman Returns is fundamentally a love story. "It's a story about what happens when old boyfriends come back into your life after things have changed," says the director, whose prior credits include the two X-Men movies.
He also revealed details about the young boy named Jason who is seen in scenes with Lois. "He's hers and Richard's," says Singer. "No, they're not married. He's a child out of wedlock. I know it's very racy [and that] never happens." However, reports suggest that Jason is revealed as Superman's son, fathered during events in Superman II, and that the child's telepathic powers are key to saving the Man of Steele's life.

Super Story
Reports suggest that Kevin Spacey's villain Lex Luthor is released from prison during Superman's absence, with the hero unavailable to testify against him. The villain raids Superman's Fortress of Solitude for technology that will allow him to create his own continent, creating blackouts and earthquakes in Metropolis.
Luthor is believed to stab Superman with a Kryptonian crystal, which Lois removes and throws out of a window on the villain's yacht. The injured hero pursues the crystal to the bottom of the ocean, his location earily pinpointed by Lois' son. Sueprman is rushed to the hospital, but recovers to launch a newly-created Kryptonian land-mass into deep space, creating "New Krypton."
