you should try automatic if you pass with it and want to drivee a manual it wont be so stressful taking a manual test knowing you can still drive your automatic reguardless. .

That's a good way of looking at it. Everyone else has been putting it like this "Well, if you pass a Manual test you can drive an automatic anyway. So there. Nevermind that gears are fathomless to you."
'cept without the "fathomless" part since I'm the only person who'd say such a thing.

i wanted to transfer over to automatic in the midst of my miserable failures but stayed on due to familiarity with my instructer , he had talksport on the car radio during all the lessons try it out that way for a lesson or two and if its comfortable stay with it .

your mate works for the dsa does he? That's a good way of looking at it. Everyone else has been putting it like this "Well, if you pass a Manual test you can drive an automatic anyway. So there. Nevermind that gears are fathomless to you." that's what my dad said, he said I should learn on the manual first so if I pass it I can drive the automatic too I might start doing it on the automatic soon, that will be interesting I go really slow, makes sense since I've just started, but if I go onto second gear and go faster, I will have a heartattack! it's just so scary, I know I'll kill a cow or a horse or something like that

When I started going 10-15mph my dad was screeching "Slow dowwwwwwn!". Way to build confidence. I'll be one of those annoying 15mph people on the road.

if you don't get on with your instructor I think it's best to ditch them. It's too much money to be lumbered with a feckwit.
